Daxton spun his self back and forth gently in the desk chair, staring blankly at the papers in front of him. His eyes drooped and the man's head bobbed down. The ex-soldier had drifted to sleep, and a snore from his own body jolted him, waking him from his drifting sleep. It had been boring recently, considering what he just went through with Diesel.
The Registeel followed behind Daxton loyally. With the other five Pokemon left behind with a trusted daycare professional, the security officer could only hope that the poor day care crew could handle his steel type team. The two were alone, climbing the side of a snow covered mountain. Recent attacks and his volatile nature didn't suit a job on a school campus, as much as it would his old job as a soldier. The trail was a tasking one, and he had to turn his mind to what he had set in the path of him and his Registeel, Diesel.
Snow blew down on them hard until they reached the first entrance of only one of the caves they would have to go through. They battled, they walked, they ran, jumped, climbed and fell. After what felt like forever though, the duo arrived at the exit of the first cave, greeted by even fiercer snow, a setting sun and several angry ice types, which didn't last long thanks to Diesel already being what seemed like... irritated.
Daxton couldn't believe his eyes, Diesel appeared to have developed an emotion at that moment in time, only to watch it disappear as the two Glalie ran off into the snow storm. Shaking off the shock, he continued on up the mountain. They were there originally to tame the Registeel as much as humanly possible.. maybe it was working? It was a while though, before they reached the next cave. Daxton, nearly frozen with frost covering his eyebrows, ducked into the second cave with Diesel, thankfully, greeted by emptiness and darkness. Using some fire starter and what burning materials he had, the man stoked a fire that would only last several hours.
It was what was on the other side of the mountain that interested him. There was an ancient site, that throughout history was considered sacred to some ancient monks, they idolized Registeel and his power. Apparently, Diesel had something to do with this mountain, and hopefully bringing him here would help. The only problem was that Daxton didn't know if it was cause he attacked the monks, attacked the old village, damaged the mountain in some way, or did something horrible OR good. But it didn't seem like Diesel had that much power, maybe something happened that knocked the Registeel off of it's power streak that it was so well-known for.
That though, was only remaining to be seen. Hopefully Daxton could bond further with this Pokemon, and grow a bond with it, something that wouldn't break... and would hopefully help with the Registeel's obedience issues.
He couldn't rest, he couldn't sleep knowing how cold it was where he was at, as well as knowing that the notorious, violent Registeel was out of his ball. Daxton had all the trust he had put into all of his Pokemon, even Diesel, but he couldn't risk going to sleep and allowing him to attack wild Pokemon freely. That could cause a cave-in and many unnecessary deaths. So he stayed up all night, all the way until the sun rose, and got no rest.
Their trek began again, but finally, at the end of this day, he achieved the goal of reaching the top of the mountain. Now.. it wasn't that this mountain was so big, it was snow covered, it was more of a matter that it was so far north, it HAD to be snow covered. The mountain was relatively small, mostly a hill, but still big enough to be classified, and on the edged of a plate.
Turning and reaching out towards his Registeel, he gave it a solid pat on the arm and nodded. The air was different... free and light. A new sense came over Daxton and he felt something had changed in the Pokemon. It was on the trek down the mountain side that he realized what the problem was. Diesel wasn't just attacking things cause it felt like doing it and being a complete douche. It was because it didn't feel like Daxton was worthy of it. Catching the force of nature wasn't enough for the Registeel... Diesel wanted to see how far Daxton would go to train it. This act of bravery, putting his life into the hands of a volatile, machine like Pokemon without the rest of his team or his fighting/steel type, told Diesel that Daxton was good enough for it.
Upon that realization, the Raymer boy felt like a total ass... not being able to see the truth in his own Pokemon. "You weren't being a jerk. You just didn't think I was worth your time... didn't you?" He questioned, only to be answered by some kind of garbling noise and a screech. Assuming that as a yes, he went on.
"If you thought that I wasn't strong enough for you... then why didn't you kill me? You had so many opportunities." His questioned fell on snow though. Diesel didn't make any noise, just turned away and left... leaving that man with mixed thoughts.
One of the thoughts still echoed. "Does Diesel have human emotions?" His tired eyes looked up to the now calm Registeel. It's eyes a faint glowing tint of red, arms resting by it's side, showing no stress of knowing that there are strangers outside of the door. "You... You're my special little case... that's what I'm gonna call, you know." The comment earned a warble of a noise, a look and then a glance back down at the floor.
It was strange still, something so powerful, just sitting there, taking his orders now, listening to his words, acknowledging him and behaving like a captive Aggron on a full stomach. "Do you feel any kind of emotions?" He asked outwards, getting another garble and making him shake his own head. "I can't understand you... why am I still asking you questions and expecting you to answer?" ... Another garble.... He could've used Emery's psychic abilities to tell him what Diesel was thinking... or Auxru's aura capabilities to speak in his mind, but something told him to let sleeping Pangoro rest, and to just believe in his strengths and instincts.
