Bonding with Boone (OPEN)

Thea sat down on the warm sand, watching as Kiara and Boone did the same. Knees bent upwards, she looked out at the waves as they crashed up against the shore. Taking a deep breath as the cool breeze blew through her hair. "Well guys, seems like today is a great one to be spent out here. The sun is shinning, there's a small breeze and the sand is warm to the touch." Turning her head to Boone, she smiled and picked up the small panda like pokemon, placing him in her lap. "I think it's time we bonded a bit more, what do ya say?" While continuing to smile, she couldn't help but think back to when she had found him. "Kiara, you may stay here on your towel since you don't like the water as much." She rubbed her, laying out some food in case she got hungry.


Kiara stretched out against the towel as she felt Theas hand move across her. "Sounds fine with me. You two can go play on that water board thing..." She pawed at it, examining the thing as it sat in the sand. She had seen Thea use it once before but didn't like the thought of falling off of it into the waves. Placing a paw against Boone, she pushed him a small bit. "Go on, go have your time with Thea. It's long overdue." Smiling, she laid her head down.

Boone smiled, jumping up on Theas shoulder. "Let's do it!" He cheered as he thought to himself. Finally, time alone with Thea where the cat won't come. Maybe this will work out. Sitting there on her shoulder, he took in the breeze and looked out over the ocean. A part of him was afraid of going out there but another was excited.

Thea pulled her hair back into a ponytail before grabbing a hold of her surfboard and standing with Boone on her shoulder. "Ready little guy?" She asked, watching as he nervously shook his head. Patting his head, she headed for the water and got on the board. Placing him down on the front, she pushed outward while the water was still calm. Sitting up she gently tapped Boones head. "Hey there handsome." She teased as she rubbed behind his ears. "I know we haven't really had much time to bond besides when I cared for you but I thought you having some fun here would brighten it up a bit."

Boone turned around and looked up to his trainer. He remembered the day she had found him alone and sick. The trainer before her thought him to be no good so he abandoned him. "I..." He started but quickly silenced himself only to plant himself up against her. Tears in his eyes. "Thank you Thea. For everything. You have a great heart and that's why I like being your friend. Seeing the way you interact with Kiara makes me realize that you do care about everyone and pokemon more then yourself. You're always trying to make us smile even when you're not able to..."

"Boone... I love you to death and back. I'm happy I found you that day and I don't regret anything. You and Kiara, you're the greatest friends I have right now. That and you'll always be my little man so stop worrying every time I talk to a guy you goof." She grinned and looked out as a wave was starting to build up. "Alrighty Boone, you ready?"

Boone had an evil grin across his face, grabbing onto her ankle as Thea stood up. As the wave rose up over them, he let go and moved to the front of the board. Arms out and the face of enjoyment on his face.

After much begging from Bane, Fins, and himself, Azreal decided that going back to the beach was a good idea. Well, it was more like...how could he resist? He couldn't, and he wouldn't. Going to the beach was something that had become habit, and habit he could not resist. Bane seemed inclined to Azreal's side, and Fins was his usual bubbly self. Boy, Fins used to exhaust him all the time. But now, he could carry Fins as the Pokemon wanted him to. Though, Fins had a thing for...well, flailing everywhere. He was a water type out of water, but Bane seemed more used to walking on the ground. Fins, however, was not, and usually flopped everywhere or rolled around everywhere. That's why he decided to carry the water Pokemon around, and Fins seemed happy to do so.

When they had come back to the beach, Azreal had noticed a Persian on a towel. Persians didn't seem to like water too much. But surely, the Persian wasn't alone? Azreal looked for an owner, and saw someone in the water, surfing. That must've been the owner. He sat down on the sand, Fins blowing his bubbles while flailing. Bane, of course, kept a watch on the Persian to make sure it didn't get close to either Azreal or Fins.

The Persians ears twitched, as other approached the area. Raising her head, she saw the boy whom looked a few years older then Thea sit down with his Pokemon. One of which was staring at her. Who's this dude? She asked herself as she continued to observed him. Looking at the Samurott. "Look buddy, I don't plan on causing any harm or troubles for your trainer so take a seat. Relax a bit. The sand feels great!" Kiara sat up, stretching out her neck before licking her paws and looked out to the waves. Seeing her master with Boone started to make her jealous for the first time. No, you will not lower yourself... Finally, she got to her feet and walked to the the edge of the shore, smacking at the small waves as the crashed against the sand.

Boone grinned as they made their way out of the wave and into the open once more. "That...was...awesome!" The small panda exclaimed as he turned back to Thea smiling. "I would love to do this again."

Thea smiled down at him, turning the board as she looked at the shore. "I think Kiara is enjoying it a small bit." Just then she noticed other pokemon along the shore with a trainer. "Hey Boone? What do ya say we meet someone new?"

He looked at the shore as he sighed. "I guess. I'm really happy right now so nothing can bring me down!" Quickly he grabbed onto Thea as she laid on the board, paddling back.

Bane couldn't help but bark a bit at the Persian. He did not trust the feline, and he didn't trust Azreal to be around the feline. His hair seemed to stand on it's ends, as though a warning went off in it's head. He started to circle Azreal, and stayed at his said, watching the cat from a distance. Bane relaxed when he saw the Persian go towards the water, glad the cat was away from Azreal. perhaps Bane was being high-strung, but he didn't trust others to not hurt Azreal. "I can't trust you..." He told the Persian, giving off a growl.

Azreal sighed. This was something Bane kept doing; he kept trying to get between him and other people. Sure, Azreal was glad to have a loyal friend, especially since they had been friends for so long. "Bane, that's fine." He rustled Bane's fur, scratching Bane's favorite spot: right above the neck between the helmet and fur. Bane quickly sat down, loving get scratched right there. The Mantyke flailed in his arms and keep making bubbles, blowing them around. Azreal had noticed the other trainer getting out of the water, but he was scratching Bane at the moment. "Good day." He said, his Mantyke giving a usual greeting of blowing bubbles and flailing.

The Persian rolled her eyes and flicked sand at Bane with her tail in a playful manner. "I'm a pretty laid back cat but if you harm my trainer well, that's a different story". Turning back to the water, she saw Thea and Boone approaching. In a last minute decision, she ran out into the shallow water and jumped on Thea licking her.

Thea watched as Kiara ran out to her, a bit surprised that she was even touching the water. However she didn't expect the cat to jump up into her arms. Quickly she tossed her board to the shore and caught the Persian. "Kiara.... What have I told you about sudden jumps? One day I won't be able to catch you like I can now." She smiled as Boone started to smack Kiara on the head. Thea walked to the shore, placing the feline down and grabbing her board. "Come on guys. Let's go meet the new student." Upon walking over she noticed his Pokemon. Water Types, the both of them. Ones that she had seen before due to her journeys with her father yet it still made her smile. Planting her board into the sand she smiled down at the older boy, holding out her hand. "Hello, I'm Thea. You must be new to the Academy. This here is Kiara." She rubbed the Persians head as Boone jumped down to the sand glaring at Azreal. "This little guy here, is Boone."

Bane had gotten sand kicked into his face! And he was not happy about it. He growled, jumping into the water. He jumped into the water not only to get the feline wet, but to get the sand off his face. He proceeded to splash near the feline, trying to make sure the Persian's fur was soaking wet. "And if you harm mine, you're get more than a wave of water, Persian." He barked at the Persian, a low growl emitting from his throat. Bane watched the Persian jump on the trainer, and with that, Bane trotted back to Azreal. Azreal was giving him a stern look, but the Persian had started it first by hitting him with a pawful of sand! He kept glaring at the Persian, looking rather annoyed.

Azreal watched the interaction between the Persian and Bane, seeing Bane splash the Persian, then trot back, still annoyed. "Bane, the water's right there. If you need to relax, the water's right there." He didn't get a response from Bane, so he assumed Bane was being a bit...maybe Bane was nervous. The trainer seemed to walk over, and Bane was giving off a low growl as she came close. "Hi. I'm Azreal. Bane is the Samurott, and Fins is the Mantyke." He looked down at Boone, who seemed to be glaring at him, but he just looked at the Pancham in interest. "A Pancham and a Persian? Interesting combo, considering they're weak to each other."

Fins flailed around, looking at the Pancham. "Hello! Let's play!" He began to flail around in Azreal's grip, blowing bubbles happily.

Thea smiled once more, taking a seat. "Yeah, odd pair indeed. Kiara and I found each other when I was just about eight years old. She was a Meowth at that current time. Alone, we traveled through the woods, trying to get her back to her mother. Unfortunately, when we got there, poachers had killed her for the gem in her forehead. Kiara had no where to go and we just bonded. Eventually we came across the town where dad and I were staying. He let me keep her. Then not to long before coming here, I found Boone. He was alone, sick, and abandoned by his trainer. Once he was hurt, they threw him to the side, thinking he was weak. Quickly I ran home where I cared for him till he was fully recovered. He chose himself to stay by my side as my friend but he also tends to be a bit over protective." She smiled, looking at Kiara and Boone. "However, I've always wanted a Dragon Type. Dratini's are adorable. I've seen a few when I was with dad. They belonged to a group of trainers that he passed information back and forth with. What about you Azreal?" She asked, turning her head towards him.

Boone climbed up in Theas lap, listening to her short story of how they had all came together as Kiara laid down behind Theas surfboard which was blocking the sun from her.

He watched as Thea sat next to him, saying that they were an interesting pair. Apparently, Kiara was a Meowth when they had first met. Then, began the story stuff. Azeral found it off-putting, how she was just so open in tell him how she met the abandoned Meowth and the injured Pancham. It wasn't that he wasn't listening, but the fact that she was so open about how she got her Pancham and Persian. He began to shift uncomfortably on the sand, and as soon as she had finished with her story, he walked into the water with Fins and Heartsbane, the water Pokemon splashing in the water and swimming happily.

He looked towards her, as she started to talk about dragon Pokemon, and how Dratinis seemed adorable. Was she asking about his history with his Pokemon, or his opinion on Dragon types. "Thea, you make me uncomfortable with how open you are. I have a tendency of not judging people, but I feel that I should give you a warning: if you are so open with people, bad things will happen to you. You can be manipulated, abused, and blamed, all under the assumption of being "friends". I prefer being around people who come to trust me, and tell me their stories of the own conviction. I am telling you this now so you do not make that mistake. While my words may sound harsh, I feel that there is a line that should be crossed in it's own time. If you are insistent to try and become my friend, then you will need to give me time to fully understand and trust you: otherwise, not a single words will come from these lips." He smiled and made a motion, as though to zip his lips with his fingers.

Bane and Fins began to splash each other with the water from the ocean, pretty happy with the water. Bane, however, seemed to notice Azreal's uneasiness, moved alongside Azreal, and Fins splashed to his other side. "Dragon types? Can't say I've had an interest, honestly. If I wanted another Pokemon, it would be an Empoleon or a Clawitzer."

Thea looked at Azreal as he moved away a bit. Her eyes filled with confusion and a small bit of sadness. "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you..." What came next from him was a shock to her. Never had anyone spoken to her like that. "I just thought that... I'm just use to being around people I feel I can trust. Boone is how I know one is trust worthy. When someone isn't a good person to be around, Boone will just become protective, not jealous." She smiled a bit and rubbed the small Panda pokemons head. "Kind of handy thing having him in my life. He really looks after me. Kiara will also show. If she likes them, they are fine if not, she wont want anything to do with them." 

Kiara lifted her head slightly after Thea mentioned her name and looked to Azreal. That was rude... Getting up and just walking away like that. She laid her head back down while licking her paws clean.

Boone jumped up, making a ball of sand and throwing it into the water before starting to gather what he could. Starting to build something but he had no idea what at the time. 

"I do however understand if you don't wish to share about you and your Pokemon. I won't force it out of ya." Winking she used her hand to knock some sand at Azreal. "As for the friend factor, if you want to be friends, I'd like that because I really hardly have any to tell the truth... But we can take all the time that is needed. I'd prefer us just talking about things we like perhaps or what we are good at." Smiling, she stood up and stretched out. "Of course, that's only if you want to."

Azreal had relaxed a bit, being near the water. Looking at her, there was confusion, sadness, then shock. She said that she was used to people she could trust, and that her Pancham, Boone, usually was her way of knowing if the person was trustworthy or not. She mentioned how he really looked after her, reminding him about what Heartsbane did for him all the time. "Well, even our Pokemon can be a little too...protective, but I understand what you're saying. Bane does try to look out for me, even if it's a bit much."

Fins was swimming in the water when he was suddenly hit by a ball of sand. He swam around, getting the sand off of his back. He poked his head out of the water, noticing the panda playing in the sand. He got onto the shore, rolling his way towards the panda. "Hello!" He flailed happily at the panda-like Pokemon. "Whatcha doing?" He started to blow bubbles, and habit that he always did.

It appeared that Thea understood that he didn't feel comfortable around her to tell him and his Pokemon's story. She then proceeded to knock sand at him which got on his shirt. "Oh." He followed suit and knocked some sand at her. He then proceeded to take his shirt off and throw it into the sand. "I forfeit my shirt to the sand." He said in a comedic and sarcastic tone. He definitely had a good build, since he had been a swimmer for most of his life. Every since he got Bane, he practiced swimming and he was very good at long-distance swimming, but it insisted that his body was constantly in good shape. And it seemed that even though he did lecture her, she still wanted a friend because she didn't have any. "Well...I prefer small talk as well. Big talk has its moments, but big talk isn't necessary now. So, no long stories." He grinned a bit, before starting to step back into the water. "You coming in?" He looked towards her, already up to his waist in the ocean water.

Thea nodded as she turned her head to each of the Pokemon, right after the other. "Sorta like a parent being protective or a really close friend." She continued to smile watching Boone play in the sand.

Boone looked over as the water type spoke. He wasn't much of one to play around, he wouldn't even play with Kiara much. "I...I'm just messing with this here...sand stuff. I'm guessing you have tons of experience seeing as you like the water and all that jazz." Not being very socialble unless trying to pick a fight, he just wanted to be left alone. Of course Thea though would want him to talk. To get some friends. Perhaps it wouldn't such a bad idea but he was still a bit unsure. "Uh... Wanna...play I guess?"

Thea laughed as he returned the sand at her and watched as he threw his shirt to the ground. Laughing, she ran back out into the water, splashing him. "Ya know, you're a pretty goofy guy Azreal." Smiling she continued to splash at him. "This is a fight I shall win!" She proclaimed.

Kiara watched as Boone began to play with the water Pokemon named Fins. She felt that she too wanted to play but figured it best to allow Boone his own time. Quickly she darted over to the waters edge and sat down in the wet sand, smacking at the waves as they crashed up against her front paws.

Fins looked towards the fighting type, curious as to what he was doing. The fighting type said he was just messing with the sand. He guessed that Fins had a lot more experience with it, and the water Pokemon nodded. "Yeah! One time, Azzie played with me and we made a hugggeee sand castle! It was so big, we lived in it for a weekend!" The water Pokemon used his fins to try and emphasize the size of the sand castle. "Of course, Bane got all mad, but he kept the water away!" Fins rolls around happily, back and forth. He looked towards the fighter when he asked if he wanna to play. "Of course I wanna play!" The mantyke blew some bubbles and flailed. "What do we play? I'll let you pick!" The Pokemon started to roll happily.

Azreal hoped that some tension he had caused he would be soothed by acts of comedy. Well, the good thing was, she was laughing, so she seemed to get his joke. She did go back into the water, splashing him. She said that he was a goofy guy. Was he? He didn't really think so. She started splashing him, so he wound up his arm and dug it deep into the water, creating a huge splash that would hit her. "Oh, is that a challenge?" He got a bit of a twinkle in his eye and his eyebrow would raise.

Boone looked at the pokemon, raising an eye and laughing at the sight of him trying to show how big this so called sand castle was that they had built. "I bet it was an amazing sight for anyone who would have walked by. I bet it would have made them all jealous." The fighting type paused for a moment, scratching his head when Fins agreed to play but left the decision up to him. "Um, well... I'm not too sure. Maybe we should make a hideout. It's like a sand castle but we could hide up inside of it and plot random...things? Oh, oh! Or we could bury each other and make it look like we are another pokemon or a person!"

Thea smiled, laughing at him until she was splashed. Looking down at her clothes, she slowly raised her head to look at him. "You're in trouble now... This means war." With that she dipped both arms down into the water, pushing against the water as she drug them into the air, sending water Azreals way. "Ha!" She proclaimed, placing one hand on her hip and the other she made a fist pump in the air before pointing a finger at him. "Bring it on!"

Kiara watched as the water splashed about then turned towards Fins and Boone. Wonder what them two are doing... She decided to sneak over to them and laid down. "We could play, bury the Persian." She offered up with a smile.

To Fins, this Pokemon wanted to play. Well, of course he didn't look it at first, but everyone wanted to play with Fins! That fighting Pokemon was laughing as he tried to tell the other how big the sand castle was. The fighting Pokemon said that anyone who walked by would be...he had never hear that word before. He tried to think of what jealous meant. Jealous...jeal ous...jellie s...Jellicent? Wait, anyone would become a Jellicent by just looking at their sand castle?! In his little head, his mind was blown. "Wait, Sand Castles turn everyone who walks by into Jellicents?! But Jellicents are big and puffy!" He squished his face with his fins. He then noticed the fighting Pokemon was trying to think, saying his ideas out loud until he wanted to bury each other and make it look like something else. "Oh! Oh! I wanna play! I wanna play!" Fins started to flail around happily. Then, he heard the Persian talk. "Oh! Let's bury the Persian!" Fins started to grab a huge wad of sand and started to bury the Persian.

Azreal was prepared. Sure, it was a simply game of splash, but he had been with his Pokemon and swimming long enough to know the kind of waves that could hit the water. Thea looked at her clothes and noticed that they were wet, saying that he was in trouble and that this meant war. "Bring it." He had a mischievous grin on his face, waiting for her to strike. She dug her hands down, and she lifted them up, causing a splash to come his way. He make a slashing motion with his and and prevent half of the splash from getting to him. "As you wish." He laughed, and then began to swipe the water at an angle multiple times, sending multiple splashes to Thea.
