No! Just like how in the real world one frog may look different from a frog on another continent, one pokemon may look different from one that originates in a different area. It is to be assumed that evolution has had a place here in the world of Masters Academy and that some pokemon look different from others even if they are the same type. If you are joining and someone already has a Nidoking (just as an example) and you too are allowed a Nidoking, they DONT have to look the same. Perhaps yours is a Asian Nidoking and theirs is a African Nidoking.
Fancy names can be used to account for how one looks different from another. However, try to be reasonable. At least bare in mind what sort of patterns there are in animals in the real world. For example, a Totadile is clearly reflective of some species of crocadilia (ie alligator, crocodile, caiman). You wouldn't expect to see such an animal in Canada.
If you wish to reference real world places of origin (not necessary, you can keep things vague) try to bear things in mind such as.
Maybe this 'fella is a Asian Nidoking.
And maybe this one is African.

- There is more variation in tropical species and in tropical locations (both plants and animals).
- Animals from island ecosystems, and in arid or desert terrain tend to be smaller species.
- Ice pokèmon are likely to come from colder ecosystems
- There tend to me more of the largest land species in Africa than other continents.
- The largest Cats tend to exist in Africa and Asia
- Dominant Canine species tend to exist in North America and Europe
- Largest Bear species tend to exist in North America.
- Many pokèmon clearly resemble animals that are from specific world locations (such Girafarig), or environments (Empoleon). They should stick to this premise.
