Kai walked along the brook along with Shadow whom was riding on Kilaueas head. She had only arrived a bit ago at the Academy and didn't have the slightest clue of what she needed to do. She had already taken what bags she was able to strap to her bike to her room but wasn't settled in. Taking a walk seemed ideal as Shadow was ready to run wild. Perhaps washing down her motor cycle would be a thought for when she got back but for now, it was time to relax. Take a breath.
She sat down by the water, placing her finger tips down breaking the surface. It was cool to the touch. Smiling, she removed her jacket, pokeballs and hat. Placing them down on a rock after folding them as her fathers dogtags remained hanging around her neck. "The air here is different. Not like back home in Hawaiʻi uh?"

Kilauea soon came to a stop after Kailani, lowering her head as the small Zorua slipped off into the water. "Off you go little one." She laughed at the small dark type before hearing Kai's voice. Her trainer was talking about home, in Hawaii. She was right, the air wasn't like what they were use to but it was fresh and quite clean. Knowing that Kai came here to try and escape her troubled ways she laid down, head placed behind her. Without a warning she pushed Kailani into the water with a grin on her face.

Shadow felt the Camerupt lower its head and began to try running up her only to land on his butt. At least it was in the water which felt great after a moment of taking it it. "Hey, a warning would be nice ya know." Before the small Zorua knew it, Kila had knocked Kai towards the water as well. Quickly he darted out of the way before bouncing onto his trainers head laughing.

Before Kai could react to Shadow hitting the water, she found herself face first in it. Moving around to the point where she could sit up, she just laughed as the small pokemon jumped to her head. Both of them were soaking wet now and there stood Kila. Looking perfect as she always did. The Camerupt didn't mean harm, she was just one for fun, one to make times good between the three. A better mother figure then Kai could have asked for and one that truly cared. After a bit of sitting there thinking she picked Shadow up off her head, climbing out to the waters edge and taking a seat when she felt something warm move up behind her. Turning her head she met with Kilaueas face and smiled as she place rubbed the Camerupts face. "Thank you." Kai placed Shadow down against the fire/ground type who placed its head by the small dark type. Sighing, she laid her head back against Kila waiting to dry off.

    A dark shadow loomed over the three on the ground, cast large, possibly menacing.  High overhead, with about a 24.5 foot wingspan, the cream underside with it's red speckles might clue the educated in to the fact that the large bird of prey circling overhead was none other than Talonflame. Baron was on the hunt, and he certainly spotted those pokèmon and the human below.  Now, Baron had no taste for humans, and even if the pair of pokèmon below were the sort he would like for a meal, he knew he wasn't to hunt pokèmon that belonged to those in the school.  However, those below didn't know that. 

   Waiting until is sharp eyes picked up on one of them looking up, or until he got bored, Baron tucked his wings and dived down, picking up speed as he shot downward at the trio, apparently meaning to snatch someone up for his dinner.  

   Baron wasn't the only pair of eyes around, a coo from a nearby Pidgey waking up his trainer.  Fritz had been stretched out in the grass.  His avian calls joined by the scolding chattering of Fritz's Emolga, who came scampering out of a bush, and then made a beeline for the the three that Baron seemed eager to frighten, it was a bit of a distance though.  

    There was nothing to do for it, except to follow after an Immelmann. He would have to apologize, not that he was going to be able to get to them before Baron had some fun at their expense.

Kai grinned a small bit as she felt the warmth from Camerupt and the suns rays beaming down on her face. She reached upwards to her hair feeling it was already dry and stretched her arms as far as she could without throwing one out of joint. Opening her eyes, she was a large figure swooping down towards them. Talonflame, she thought to herself before quickly scooping up Shade and rolling behind Kila. "Kila, heads up!"

The Camerupt felt her trainer move off from her then looked up heeding her warning about the inbound flying type. Kila got to her feet in a defensive stance, acting as a tank to guard Kai and the small illusion pokemon.

Shade felt Kai's tight grip on him as she bolted behind the large ground/fire type but he also took into noticing the other Pokemon and a trainer off in the distance. One looked as though it was trying to make its way over. Whether it was to assist or destroy was a thought that ran through the small fox like pokemons mind.

Kila arched her back, shielding Zorua as she moved her head to look at the sky then the other trainer and his pokemon.

    From his position above, the bird of prey spotted the changes below, the way the human picked up the small furry pokèmon, and then leapt behind the largest among them.  Still, he didn't slow in his dive. Downward he shot, even then seeing a scampering patch of black in the form of a familiar Emolga bounding through the grasses, further beyond, their Fritz was just starting to move in his changing field of vision.  

   The ground, and the three strangers he had targeted were fast approaching, and Baron's beak parted to let out the high pitched scream of the giant fire hawk. Finally, he leveled off, shooting along parallel to the ground.  He passed just over the trio, so near that the force of the wind broke and scattered in and around the camerupt, kicking up dirt, and possibly jostling those on the ground as higher pressure of the air beneath the talonflame's wings collided with the earth. 

   If his flight was uninterrupted, a single, audible beating of his wings accommodated his path over the ground, as he passed right over an Immelmann. The turbulence certainly had it's effect on the small flying squirrel.  At first he made a frantic grab for the plant life, as the winds tried to pull him right up from the ground.  His brief scramble hardly made a difference, and soon the electric rodent found himself lifted up from the ground, and tumbling a bit.  Righting himself, he stretched out his legs to glide his way back to earth, chittering loudly, scolding the talonflame that had landed some distance beyond. 

     Fritz himself wasn't entirely spared, Baron back winging to land near his trainer, caused the boy to have to throw up his arms to help keep the dirt and debris from getting in his eyes.  Orville had to grip his boy's shoulder hard and still nearly was knocked off, but managed well enough after a few flustered flaps and even gripping at a shirt with his beak.  With a sigh, he reached up to lightly scritch at the Talonflames head, when the big bird reached down for them, and then proceeded to preen Fritz's hair. 

    After awhile, he started to walk to the trainer and her pokèmon, Baron following after him, looking rather dignified, even if he wasn't exactly built to travel on the ground.  Immelmann, had since landed, and scurried up a Fritz, to situate himself on the other shoulder, and continue his chittering, telling his trainer all about his ordeal.   Finally, as he got near enough to call out to the trainer, he felt, well a bit abashed. 
 
     "Good day... sorry about that, Baron has a twisted sense of humor", he calls out, German accent somewhat thick, as he was still mostly used to hearing English spoken by his own countrymen. Baron, for his part, didn't seem to apologetic, holding his head high, and regal, before preening at his own chest feathers, rather pleased with himself, not that his serious demeanor betrayed as much.
