Pokèmon Groups

***All groups with the word "adventure" in the title and the "Rare" Group are based on the Stage 1 pokèmon in the line, and include all pokèmon in their respective lines -unless- the pokèmon fits into another group specifically.***

1. Starters
   
   Any pokèmon (or line) that the player at the beginning of official pokèmon games with the traditional choice between fire/water/grass can choose.

2. Special Evolves - UNAVAILBLE for starting
   
   Pokèmon that evolve in any way other than just leveling up.  The form prior to the special evolution does not fall under this category, only the one that requires something other than just leveling up to evolve 
   
             Example:  Staryu > Starmie (by use of Water Stone)
                            Starmie is a special evolve,  Staryus is not. 
   
   To see if your pokèmon is a Special Evolve, go to Bulbapedia and search your pokèmon. Withing the first two sentences what your pokèmon evolves from and what it evolves two will be identified as well as how it evolves.  If it says anything other than just  "starting at level ___" for how it evolves, then it falls under this category
   
   There are TWO Exceptions to this definition: Those Evolving from Baby Forms, and those that will evolve because of a level reached. Further Explanation/Examples

3. Baby Form: 
   
   Some pokèmon have a stage in their line in which they are considered a 'baby' pokèmon.  These are considered to be a stage prior to stage one in a line.

4. Legendary:-Unavailable
   
   Pokèmon identified as legendary in the official games. These pokèmon were know to appear only once and as such are considered especially rare, and are especially powerful.

5. Earliest Adventure
   
   Pokèmon typically encountered right away in official games, and are especially common to the area.  These pokèmon tend to be docile, and not especially strong, even when fully evolved.  Second stage tends to also be encountered in the same area and are also common.

6. Early Adventure:
   
   Pokèmon that are usually seen early in the game, and are fairly common.  These pokèmon tend to be docile, but can evolve into far stronger pokèmon then they initially start out as. Sometimes second stages are seen later in the official games.

7. Experienced Adventure

8. Rare
   
   Pokèmon that are known to be especially rare.  These pokèmon can also be quite powerful, and popular as well, but the main draw of them is that they are difficult to obtain.  Some examples of rare pokèmon include:

Special Evolves

If your Pokèmon is...

• Not Allowed-with exceptions:

[/u] with pokèmon in a stage that required a 'special' evolution (ie an evolution obtained by any means other than leveling up).  The following exceptions to their rule apply. 

• The pokèmon is a stage one pokèmon. 
  
  In other words, the 'special' evolution is to evolve a baby pokèmon.  
          Example: Togepi > Togetic (via Friendship level being raised)

• 'Special' Factor ONLY determines which evolution
  
  The 'special' aspect of the evolution is only used to determine -which- form a pokèmon will evolve into, not if.
  
  
  
             Example: Tyrogue > Evolves @ level 20
                                Hitmonchan (if attack is higher than defense)
                                Himonlee (if attack is lower than defense)
                                Hitmontop (if attack equal to defense )
                     Tyrogue -will- evolve at lvl 20, the 'special' factor only says which form.
                            Therefore, the evolved forms are -not- special evolves
  
  In cases like this, the availability of the pokèmon depends on what group it's line belongs to, and the stage it is.

Rare

If your pokèmon is...

• Generically Rare: (Stage 1, or non-final form Only)
  
     You most likely will not be allowed to have any other pokèmon.  
     You may submit an:

           but most likely you will be told you may not have the second
           depending on the rare pokèmon, so be prepared for this.

 

• Especially Rare, Pseudo Legenadary: (Stage 1 ONLY)
                           (i.e.  Pseudo-legendary and Fossil Lines)
  
            You may have no other pokèmon -period-.
             You are also likely to face additional requirements to
                    catching your first additional pokèmon and/or evolving this pokèmon. 
  
  
• Especially Rare, Fossil Line:
                   (Stage 1, but non-final stage ONLY)
  
             You may have no other pokèmon -period-.
             You are also likely to face additional requirements to
                       catching your first additional pokèmon
                       and/or evolving this pokèmon.  
             You may also take a penalty to
                        the funds granted by the character creations
                         or funds from an existing character.
  
  Remember: that the acquisition of valuable fossils by a child/novice trainer would be rare (the average trainer would not have access to sites where they are likely to be found), and rarer still would the child be allowed to have the fossil revived (unlike stumbling upon a rare pokèmon an unrevived fossil is not yet alive to form an attachment to the child, and it is far more likely that parents would have it sold to experienced trainers for a bundle, especially as many fossil pokèmon are difficult to manage for the novice trainer, aside from this it is likely revival procedures are quite expensive and only preformed at select locations.)  So, if choosing one of these pokèmon bare in mind administration will expect to see something in your history to make it make sense that your character will have acquired one of these pokèmon.  Make sure to check the pokèmart if the history gives a reason such as, given the pokèmon by a former trainer ect. some of these options have to be purchased.  If this is your first or second character, feel free to ask administration how much money you will receive for the creation of your character to see if it will be enough for administration to remove the funds from your initial earnings.
